3rd & Goal Warrior Scholar Project 2024

The Warrior Scholar Project provided a comprehensive introduction to the academic rigor of college life to 30 transitioning service members, with courses taught by Notre Dame faculty from the Mendoza College of Business, College of Science, College of Engineering, College of Arts & Letters, and the IDEA Center. The feedback from participants reflects the program’s profound impact:

  1. Confidence & Preparedness: Despite a slight dip from 2023, 93% of respondents felt more confident in succeeding in college. Confidence in obtaining a Bachelor’s degree remained robust, with 100% expressing belief in their capacity to graduate.

  2. Skills Development: Improvements were notable, with 100% of respondents acknowledging their competence in reading and analyzing academic texts, forming thesis statements, and the essay writing process.

  3. Business Preparedness: Participants in business-focused sessions exhibited a remarkable shift, with 100% feeling prepared for business-related degrees, up from 73% last year.

Overall, the feedback remains overwhelmingly positive, with 100% of respondents recommending the program to fellow veterans.
